Griffiths & Armour secure Construction and Latent Defect insurances for Bericote Properties
The Griffiths & Armour Construction Insurance team are delighted to have placed the Construction and Latent Defect insurances for Bericote Properties Limited and their new state of the art Amazon fulfilment centre at the former Littlebrook Power Station in Dartford. Bericote Properties are one of the most active developers of large-scale distribution space in the UK and work with a diverse client base including distinguished companies such as Rolls Royce and Ocado.
The warehouse development of 2.3 million sq. ft is the largest Amazon Warehouse in Europe. The fulfilment centre is set over 4 floors and incorporates state-of-the-art complex automation and robotic systems as well as the largest roof PV installation in the UK. One of the sustainable design choices was to include solar panels on the roof, which will provide the Amazon warehouse with green electricity through its lifetime. 99% of material from the former power station was recycled, which meant that an impressive 2 million tonnes of CO2 was saved in the process.
