Notice of changes to the Motor Insurance Database for Motor Fleet and Motor Trade customers

23 April 2024

We understand that the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) is undertaking a major transformation programme and moving their services from the current provider to a new cloud-based platform, called Navigate. You may have received notice from your insurers directly, however if not we provide details below.

The first to move will be the Motor Insurance Database (MID) and the MIB will be migrating all customer data to the new platform with effect from the 29th April, with insurers working to ensure a smooth transition from this date.

During the week commencing 22nd April, the MIB will be contacting all policyholders who access the MID directly, with a link to set up an account on the new platform, so please look out for this email.

This link will be sent to registered MID contacts only, so you should check your MID contact information and access this as soon as possible, to ensure registered users access remains active and is up to date before the move, as any registered MID user accounts that are inactive or locked will not receive this communication from the MIB.

As the migration will be taking place between the 26th and 28th April, policyholders will not be able to update records until Monday 29th April, when you should be able to log into the new site.

The MIB has produced training videos and user guides:

Again, it is the MIB who will be contacting you directly, however, if you have any questions, please get in touch.
