How to best protect your Range Rover

31 March 2023

As you may have heard, certain cars – particularly Range Rovers – are becoming more and more difficult to insure.

Thefts are on the rise as criminals find new ways of stealing away peoples’ pride and joy. In some instances, vehicles are taken from driveways and homes in a matter of minutes without owners knowing, using techniques such as key cloning and relay attacks.

Insurance markets are responding to increasingly frightening statistics by requesting additional theft prevention devices are fitted; such as aftermarket immobilisers and S5 automatic driving recognition trackers.

If you are looking to purchase a new vehicle or upgrade your existing Range Rover, it is important to be aware of the insurers appetite to offer a quotation. There are steps which can be taken to help achieve the most competitive premiums whilst ensuring you have sufficient cover in place.

Each vehicle and risk must be considered in its own right, as each risk has its own merits. It is never a one size fits all approach. In order to achieve the best outcome we would recommend that, if possible, the vehicle is kept in a locked, alarmed garage overnight. If you own more than one vehicle we would recommend all vehicles are grouped together with one insurer on one common renewal date, together with your home insurance, creating a portfolio policy.

Above all, always speak to a specialist insurance broker to assist with your cover.

We recognise that people and families are unique; each individual requires a bespoke service that is tailored to their needs and yours will be no different.
