Celebrating 90 years of excellence

24 January 2024

It all began on the 1st October 1934…and this year Griffiths & Armour turns 90!

Kenneth Griffiths and George Armour founded Griffiths & Armour in Liverpool in 1934, commencing practice on the 1st October. After leaving the Royal Insurance Company, they started their journey dealing with mostly non-marine broking; a gap they had spotted in the market.

Focused on providing commercial and industrial brokerage, Professional Indemnity insurance would become more prominent in future years, as claims increased in the early 1960’s.

Right from the very beginning of the Griffiths & Armour journey we have always taken pride in being an independent insurance broker, delivering the very best for our clients throughout the decades.

We believe our professionalism; long-standing relationships with our clients, supporting them through good and bad times; and our ethical approach, striving for excellence in everything we do, sets us apart. Our dedication to clients has been a cornerstone of our success, shaping our culture.

So much has changed over the course of 90 years. We value our culture and our history, and we will all play a part in shaping an exciting future for Griffiths & Armour. Here’s to the next 90 years!

The team will be celebrating throughout the year – raising money for charity along the way, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

We’d like to say thank you to our clients for being part of our journey – and look forward to working with you over the years to come.
