Frequently Asked Questions…

Why are we organising a photoshoot?

A picture is worth a thousand words! You’ve probably heard this adage before and over the past few years we’ve experienced the importance of staying connected, of building relationships with our colleagues, our clients and our insurer partners in a digital environment. A small but important part of that is being able to ‘put a face to name’, and whilst in-person meetings will undoubtedly increase over the coming months, many first introductions are likely to continue to occur in a virtual setting on platforms such as TEAMS, e-mail or on social media.

The Marketing team have been receiving many requests from you in recent months to arrange a photoshoot at the earliest possible date to assist in updating our existing library of professional photographs. This demand also extends to the many new starters we have welcomed into the business since our last photoshoot in 2019.

So with that in mind, we’ve arranged a photo shoot with a professional photographer on 22nd and 23rd March in our Liverpool Office and would like to invite all colleagues to take part and have their professional photo taken. This includes Central Services, Accounts, IT, HR, Reception and Post Room / Dispatch.

How will my photo be used?

The primary intention of arranging this photoshoot is to use your photo internally (Outlook, TEAMS etc), but in some cases they will also be very useful for some external communications, subject to individuals being happy for us to use those photos.

For those keen social media / LinkedIn users out there, you can use your photo to build your own online profile on platforms such as LinkedIN or Twitter. We also know when we use photographs of you and your colleagues in our communications it has a positive impact with our clients in reinforcing our professionalism and expertise as a business as well as promoting our highly personal approach to client service. Professional photos help you and Griffiths & Armour stand out from the crowd.

Where will the photoshoot take place?

The professional photographer will be located in the Liverpool Boardroom. Screens will be in place to ensure there is privacy when your photo is being taken and this will also help contain the flash from photography disturbing anyone working outside the boardroom.

I work predominantly from our Manchester or London offices. Can I book a slot and work from Liverpool on either date?

Yes, at this stage we have planned for both dates in Liverpool only. There will be additional dates required with one of those being in London. If you cannot make 22nd or 23rd March in Liverpool, we will be in touch when another date and location is arranged in both Liverpool and London. If you can make it, we would encourage you to come across to Liverpool on 22nd or 23rd March.

What should I wear?

It goes without saying smart business attire is recommended however further information to clarify guidance on recommended colours, ties / jackets etc will be forwarded to you in advance on a separate e-mail after you have secured your photo slot.

How long will it take and how can I view the available slots and book a time that suits me?

We estimate photos will take approx. 10 mins. A very simple booking system is in place which enables you to view the available 10 min slots on both dates and select the time that best suits you. You will receive e-mail confirmation the time has been secured and a diary invite which you can accept – this automatically populates the time into your Outlook calendar. Reminders will also be sent 24 hours and 30 mins before your time slot.

What type of photo will be taken and will I get to choose the image I prefer?

The first point to make is having your photo taken is not mandatory. It’s your choice. The photo’s being taken will be head and shoulders only and will be available for you to access and use anytime. Typically, the photographer will take several shots so don’t worry if you close your eyes on one! We will then receive the final images and you get to choose which you would like to use.

If I have other questions, who do I contact?

Please contact Jason or Beth in the marketing team and they will be happy to answer any questions you have.

        As a guide only, we are suggesting that MHCLG’s guidance on this issue is persuasive, which indicates that the commencement of construction work is usually marked by these features.
        • excavation for strip or trench foundations or for pad footings, or the digging out and preparation of ground for raft foundations;
        • vibroflotation (stone columns) piling, boring for piles or pile driving;
        • drainage work specific to the building(s) concerned.Whereas the following would generally not be seen as marking the commencement of construction work:
        • removal of vegetation, or top soil, or the removal or treatment of contaminated soil
        • demolition of any previous buildings on the site;
        • excavation of trial holes, dynamic compaction, or general site servicing works (e.g. roadways)

        Where clients have more limited cover for FSN matters, or in some circumstances no cover at all, those positions will not alter as a result of the new ‘default’ position.
